This laundry utility closet in La Crescenta was designed to turn a single wall into a complete, organized laundry area.
A tall cabinet side panel frames the stacked washer and dryer, so the appliances sit inside the millwork instead of standing apart from it. Next to them, upper cabinets hold detergents and supplies, an open counter gives space for folding, and a lower bank of drawers and a cabinet door keeps towels and cleaning items out of sight.
The cabinetry uses a warm oak finish with slim black bar pulls, which brings the look of the rest of the home into a room that is often treated as purely functional. Every line, from the counter height to the cabinet tops, is aligned so the wall reads as one built-in piece.
